Re: 2G SIM card

Hi,

I've bought a gps tracker for my child and need a 2G SIM card. I've seen another parent was looking for the same thing. Can anyone tell me if it worked & how I go about getting it. Also, Do you have to top up monthly ? Appreciate any help as I'm useless at this kind of stuff ☹️☹️

Re: 2G SIM card

Hi Daz, I need your help as well.

I have a phone watch for my young kid. The phone watch only works with 2G GSM network.

It was working in China. What should I do to make it work for my child travel to Alice Springs? Use a Vodafone 3G SIM card and you can turn off that function for me?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Mods can look into it on Monday but I don't think it's possible. Also if you mean she's heading to the US then you need to be aware that many networks are shutting down their 2g networks :

Thanks for your reply! My little child is heading to Alice Springs in N.T. Australia during this coming school holiday. This smart watch model is Q7S with MTK6260 CPU, only works with GSM networks: GSM850/900/1800/1900MHz. Thanks!

Re: 2G SIM card

Hi there,
Apologies, the SIM card will be set up as a 3G standard connection - which will fall back to 2G if the device won't function over 3G. However, we can't guarantee any 3rd party device will work as expected - it may be worth popping into a store and asking if they have a SIM card you can test in the watch before you sign up.

Thanks,

Re: 2G SIM card

I have the same problem in Greece for a GPS tracker. If I buy a prepaid sim card, is it possible to send you its details in order to deactivate 3G?

thanks
