Vodafone At Home Broadband Settings

If you have Vodafone At Home Broadband but want to use your own router (i.e. a third party model not supplied by Vodafone such as Belkin, Linksys, Netgear etc.) then you will need to configure the hardware settings manually.

Refer to the manufacturers instructions for guidance on how to access the configuration settings on the router, then use the following values to configure the router for Vodafone At Home Broadband:

User Name: vodafone@vodafone.ie
(a.k.a. Network ID, PPP Username, Login or Login Username)

Password: broadband

Encapsulation: PPPoE (PPP over Ethernet)

Multiplexing: LLC-based

VPI: 8

VCI: 35

MTU: use default router setting, otherwise use 1492

DNS: set to automatically assigned

If there is a need to be specified use the following

Preferred DNS: 89.19.64.36

Alternate DNS: 89.19.64.164

Some of the terminology shown may vary from the above depending on the make of router you are using, for instance the encapsulation and the encapsulation protocol may appear as one setting together, usually described as PPPoE LLC based.
