Is it really Fibre ?

Posted from Apple iPhone
Hi, just had the offer of Vodafone Fibre in the Coast, baldoyle in Dublin. We have had actual fibre connection since 2007 as the estate was one of the first in Ireland. The service has been reduced and is patchy now, probably due to old equipment and lack of investment but and see that Vodafone offer fibre to the home. Question I have is that when I called to order line, I asked about how the fibre comes into the house and they say it's actually over a copper telephone line ( which we don't have regardless) so this is not really fibre at all. Can someone explain what's going on?

Although the majority of your broadband connection would be fibre optic, the bit between your local street cabinet and your home is still the old copper phone line. This is still high speed.

Vodafone Community Expert (or so I'm told) and S8 owner. I don't work for Vodafone
