Storm Eleanor Update - Wednesday 3rd January 2018

[ Edited ]

As a result of  Storm Eleanor, there has been significant damage to the telecoms infrastructure around the country. Our engineers are working hard to restore service for all customers affected as soon as possible.

There has also been significant damage to the electricity networks, particularly in the North West, West and South East of the country. Lightning has also caused damage to networks in the South and South west.

The main areas that remain without power include:

  • Mayo (Castlebar, Swinford, Westport, Ballyhaunis, Ballina)
  • Sligo (Enniscrone, Tubbercurry)
  • Leitrim (CarrickonShannon, Mohill)
  • Roscommon (Arigna)
  • Cavan
  • Monaghan (Ballybay, Castleblaney)
  • Leixlip, Kilcock
  • Dunmanway
  • Tralee, Ballybunion

A status Orange weather warning remains in operation across nine counties until 2pm today.

Met Éireann's second highest level of alert forecasts storm surge conditions with exceptionally high seas, coastal damage and flooding across counties Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick.

A Status Yellow wind warning also remains valid for Leinster, as well as counties Cavan, Monaghan, Roscommon, Tipperary and Waterford with gusty westerly winds expected to continue into the early afternoon.

This page will be updated as new information becomes available.

Re: Storm Eleanor Update - Tuesday 9th January 2018

As a result of Storms Eleanor & Dylan, there has been significant damage to the telecoms infrastructure outside of the greater Dublin area. Our engineers are working hard to restore service for all customers affected as soon as possible.

Based on present fault volumes, the below is a guide on the current average restoration times per county from the date your fault was logged. We expect that fault volumes will continue to fluctuate over the coming days which could further impact estimated repair timeframes, so please check back here for the latest information.

If you have already logged a fault with us and are within the average restore timeframes quoted below, we appreciate your patience, our engineers will get to you as soon as possible.
